Blucerchiati travel searching for first away win, Chievo host Sampdoria for the Stadio Bentegodi on Monday evening in Serie A, with both teams looking to get back to winning ways.
After a bright learn to the season, each party have suffered a dip in form. The hosts never have won in five games and are available in away from the back three consecutive losses. Sampdoria however arrive after the disappointing home draw with Empoli and Samp have won considered one of their last five.
Last season saw both encounters between Chievo and Sampdoria end concentrating on the same result: 2-1 and is overtaken by the hosts, using the Blucerchiati winning in September and Rolando Maran’s side making the three points in February.
Maran will still struggle to count on Perparim Hetemej, whilst Nicholas Frey found an injury against AC Milan and you'll be sidelined. Nicola Rigoni should be to the starting XI, with Giampiero Pinzi back within the bench.
Up front, Maran will more than likely give some rest to captain Sergio Pellissier, who started against Milan, with Riccardo Meggiorni starting as part of his place and Valter Birsa should start in advance of Simone Pepe again, so that it is a 4-3-1-2 formation rather than a 4-3-3.
Walter Zenga, however, will have his best starting XI, with top-scorer Eder at the start with Luis Muriel back in their place as opposed to Antonio Cassano, who started against Empoli. The ex-Real Madrid star still didn’t seem fully willing to play at his top level and Zenga may wait to supply him more playing time.
Zenga cannot trust in long-term injury absentees Vasco Regini, Andrea Coda, Lazaros Christodoulopoulos and Nenad Krsticic, but otherwise they can play his preferred team, with Roberto Soriano at the center and Joaquin Correa being a No.10.
Chievo will need to be careful on the back to resist on the attacks of Muriel and also Eder, whilst the attendees will have to be sure to not leave an excessive amount of space around the counter on the speed of Meggiorini plus the goalscoring instinct of Alberto Paloschi.
