Swansea City is on a downward spiral as of late as they dropped to the 17th spot of the current English top flight table.

After opening their season with a 1-0 win over newly-promoted side Burnley last month, the Swans are now on a five-game winless slide with four of those games ending up in losses.

Their most recent match was a 1-3 thrashing in the hands of league leaders Manchester City also at their own home field of Liberty Stadium last Saturday, as per Sports Mole.

Swansea netted their only goal of the game at the 13th minute, courtesy of a brilliant finish from Spanish forward Fernando Llorente, after comebacking striker Sergio Agüero opened the scoring at the ninth minute.

With the match tied at 1-1 at the break, head coach Francesco Guidolin's boys then gave up two goals in the second half as Agüero netted his second with a penalty kick at the 65th while Raheem Sterling sealed the win at the 77th with a slotting shot against goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

Meanwhile, Liverpool continued to dominate their opponents with a 5-1 demolition of newly-promoted club Hull City at the Anfield also last Saturday, the Liverpool Echo reported.

Adam Lallana, James Milner, and Sadio Mané scored one goal each at the 17th, 30th, and 36th minutes, giving the hosts a 3-0 lead at the break, before the Tigers were able to respond with a goal from midfielder David Meyler at the 51st.

Hull went a man-down for the second straight week after midfielder Ahmed Elmohamady was sent off for a handball at the 30th minute.

The Reds continued to take advantage of their undermanned opponents in the second half as Brazilian winger Philippe Coutinho quickly answered Meyler's goal with a 20-yard strike a minute later.

Milner's second goal of the match at the 71st minute completed the five-goal of head coach Jürgen Klopp's squad.
